There are two kinds of parenting. One is to shelter your children from the truth and reality with sugar coating fantasies until they learned the truth themselves years later. The other one is being frank with your children about the truth and inevitable reality in order to help them prepare for it. The later cultivate a child calling from work to tell you he/she made a reservation for dinner tonight. The former harbors a child yelling from the basement, stating that everything is your fault. #ThingsLeftUnsaid
